World Sleep Day
Today, we share with you how lightings can help you sleep better.
Our bodies sense lights even without us knowing it, which is why you may find it difficult to sleep in the day because your retinas can detect the light that passes through your thin eyelids, sending signals to the body to keep you awake. However, there are some lights that your body can recognise, allowing you to have a pleasant sleep.
Dim Light
High luminosity suppresses a hormone known as Melatonin, a signal that tends to surge at night due to circadian rhythm which makes you sleepy. So if you have dimmer lights, it can set the mood for light activities such as reading, before you turn in for the night.
2. Colours
Different colours emit different wavelengths, which may also suppress the release of melatonin in our bodies. LED lights tend to emit more blue light which has shorter wavelength. Red light on the other hand, emits longer wavelength. With warm accent lightings, it is possible to create a relaxing ambience to settle down the mood for sleeping.
Bedroom is the sanctuary for our tired souls, where we spend our time rejuvenating on beds and prepare for the next day. Your body deserves the rest it needs as much as you do.
